Dual extraction uses both hot water and alcohol to break down the mushroom’s cell walls. Water draws out the water-soluble beta-glucans, while alcohol draws out the alcohol-soluble triterpenes. Use only one method and you only capture half of what the mushroom holds.

Our medicinal mushroom range covers fourteen dual-extracted tinctures, from Lion’s Mane and Reishi to Chaga, Tremella and Shiitake. Each is steeped in hot water and then in alcohol, so a single 50ml bottle carries both the water-soluble and the alcohol-soluble compounds.
